At Dragonfly Equestrian, I firmly believe in starting students out with the basics. We emphasize flatwork and correct equitation basics that are rooted in dressage.
You are not going to get a lesson program that has you or your child jumping 7 or 8 lessons in; instead we focus on good control and riding skills. When students have mastered the basics of walk, trot and canter we start working in open spaces instead of arenas to ensure all students have good control out of a controlled environment.
Our focus is on dressage and flatwork, with jumping and extreme cowboy/working equitation elements added in. We are a no drama program and everyone is expected to do their own work (grooming and saddling your own horse, cleaning out the stall afterwards, hosing down and turning out your horse as well as horse care) We hold lesson days where students learn to do basic horse or emergency care and all students are expected to help with jump painting and clean up days when scheduled.
Our program includes a great on property show series which includes beginner, jumper, dressage and eventing. The average costs for these shows for students only 30 to 50 dollars to compete.
Part boarding with lessons or lessons are available on a limited basis as our program normally runs near capacity. Please contact us if you have further questions.
"Several years ago I was asked by a friend to take on a few students. Just some part time coaching. Since that time Dragonfly Equestrian has blossomed into more than 30 students, many with their own horses, searching for a different style of learning and new experiences. Dragonfly is not my primary job, it is something that I do because I love the students, the horses and the job!"
Thanks to all of you for making it all possible.
It’s amazing what we can do when we come together.
